Description

Phuong – my aunt’s daughter, which means she is my cousin.  She is living in Hai phong city now, 100 kms away from Hanoi where I was living. She is the most beautiful living creature I have ever met in my life. Years before she was born, my aunt gave birth to a pretty girl, Thao, who would be Phuong’s older sister. I loved that little baby so much because she was so cute and pretty, then as Thao is getting grown up, she is loosing her beautiful cutie childhood features. So then  I wished my aunt would give me another beautiful cousin (hehe, I am bad, huh?). And she satisfied me!  Some years later, this beautiful baby was born. The first time I saw her and held her in my arm, my heart melted, because she was so beautiful, just like I was holding a fragile crystal thing in my arm, I wanted to look at her whole day, touching and kissing her extreme small lip, seeing myself in her big – shining black eyes. The surprising thing is, as she is growing up, she keeps her beauty. Once I came to her house and tried to look for her photos, but there were none there. I asked my aunt if I could  have a photo of Phuong and bring it back to Hanoi with me.  My aunt said all the pictures were stolen or given away. There was one time my aunt brought some of her daughter’s pictures to the market and the sellers there were begging her to have the photos. The girl was just too cute to look at (something like a great amusement).  Others came to visit her and stole all the photos. So, it ended up that my aunt could not keep any photos of her beautiful daughter for herself. I did not have a good camera at the time, but I was telling myself, I would take pictures of her later after I purchase a good camera, and that would be thoudsands of pictures, and time by time. I want to keep every moment of her life, all the moments are so beautiful.  Because she is beautiful!
She was one of the major reasons for me to buy this expensive camera! I spent the last dime for it!
I am temporarily away from her now, but I will be back soon.  I want to take pictures of her some day, in “ao dai”, the Vietnamese traditional dress.
When I was about to go far away, she told me:  “Hey, I am going to miss you so much, will you be back soon to take pictures for me? I miss you, please don’t go!”. And she gave me a present: a bottle of sparkle paper stars she made with my other beloved cousin,  Giang. And they wrote me a note saying: “Hey, we love you, and hey, get marry soon, we want a brother in law!”
I am never tired of looking at her, thinking about her, loving her, and of course, pointing my camera at her. Thinking of her….that releases all of my stresses!
